Job description

Under the supervision of the Director of Spiritual Health and Education, the Spiritual Health Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide range of resources and spiritual care interventions to patients, families and assigned interdisciplinary teams. Provides creative visioning and implementation of programs and integrative care that addresses physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. Provides education and mentoring for both chaplains and CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) residents and interns. Responsible for performing job duties and implementing the mission, vision and goals of the Spiritual Health and Education Department and Tampa General Hospital.

  • Master of Divinity degree or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of ACPE Internship and Residency.
  • Ordination and/or endorsement by an acknowledged ecclesiastical body.
  • Board Certification by one or more certifying agencies (e.g.
  • Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), etc.).
  • At least three (3) years of clinical experience post-Residency within a complex, academic hospital setting required.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary environment.
