Core responsibilities
The aide will facilitate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing by translating spoken language into sign language and assisting teachers with classroom management. They will also provide direct support for academic lessons, behavioral strategies, and personal care needs as outlined in student ieps.
Requirements summary
Candidates must have a minimum of 48 college hours or a passing score on the para professional assessment of knowledge and skills test. Additionally, they must obtain texas educational aide certification and de-Escalation/Restraint certification within the specified timeframes.
