Description Lead, Inspire, and Explore – Join Our Camp Team!

At Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences that empower girls to become leaders of courage, confidence, and character! We are hiring lifeguards for our summer camp season in June and July. Certification is preferred but not required. Guards can work at either Camp Maha, Camp Catron, or both.

Sites

Camp Maha (Papillion) · Day camp pool sessions run Monday through Friday. Troops and outside rental groups can reserve sessions on the weekends.

Dates: May 26-29 – General Camp Training June 1 – August 2 – Pool Season

Salary Range: $15-17

Key Accountabilities

· Daily opening and closing of the pool and deck area. · Supervise and guard all waterfront activities, providing surveillance during aquatic activities and rescues as needed. · Be knowledgeable of all rescue techniques and emergency procedures. · Understand and implement appropriate responses to changes in weather or water conditions. · Perform swim tests to clarify swimming abilities of campers. · Discuss pool rules with each group prior to a session. · Care for the use of all waterfront equipment, complete pool chores and report needed repairs to supervisor. · Carry out other waterfront duties as assigned by a supervisor including pool maintenance and cleaning. · Maintain clear and positive communication with all internal and external clients. · Observe all safety precautions and comply with all council health and safety rules and procedures. · Report incidents to supervisor and complete accident reports immediately. · Attend trainings and in-services as needed. · Perform other duties as assigned.
