As a Child Welfare Family Support Specialist, you’ll work directly with families to build trust, strengthen relationships, and empower parents with the skills and confidence to create nurturing, healthy homes.

In this meaningful role, you’ll

  • Provide compassionate, home-based family support services, including parenting education, child development guidance, and community linkage.
  • Partner with DCYF, healthcare providers, and community organizations to ensure families receive coordinated care.
  • Conduct home visits (12–14 families caseload) and support families through individualized goal planning and progress tracking.
  • Facilitate positive parent-child interactions that promote growth, resilience, and connection.
  • Prepare reports, attend court when needed, and actively engage in team meetings and supervision.
  • Help families meet milestones, access resources, and build lasting change — one step at a time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children or families (home visiting or child welfare experience preferred)
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
  • Comfort using computers and digital databases
