Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 2 years as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Experience delivering physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients preferred.
- Experience in outpatient clinical environments is strongly preferred.
- License/Certification:
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by any U.S. state or territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross).
- Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and mobility activities
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure proper use of therapy equipment
- Document treatment sessions accurately in the electronic health record
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment
- Support clinic operations by adhering to established schedules, policies, and procedures
