Early Childhood Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher

• Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Hebrew and Judaic Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
• Teachers are the heart and soul of our program.
• Our faculty works in teams of three to support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.
• We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing educator who is invested in working with young children and weaving Hebrew into the joyful fabric of classroom life.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be equipped with creativity, flexibility, a sense of humor, and a growth mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating a warm and immersive Hebrew learning environment filled with songs, movement, games, and stories
• Fostering a lifelong love and connection to Jewish learning and Israel
• Providing patient care and scaffolding as children explore, learn, and play
• Building strong relationships with students and families
• Developing and implementing engaging Hebrew and Judaic Studies lessons
• Differentiating instruction to meet a range of needs and skills
• Collaborating closely with colleagues to plan, guide, and support interdisciplinary and experiential activities
• Communicating goals and progress with families and the Early Childhood leadership team

Qualifications

• Native Hebrew speaker
• Degree in Education or related field
• U.S. work visa
• Experience working with children between the ages of three and six
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Understanding of second-language acquisition
• Strength in teaming and multi-tasking in a busy classroom
• Commitment to self-reflection and professional development

The full-time equivalent salary range is $55,000 - $95,000, depending on years of experience.
