- Purpose: - The Medical Assistant at INTERCARE COMMUNITY HEALTH NETWORK's School Based Clinic will provide essential healthcare support to ensure the well-being of students. This role involves assisting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care, promoting health education, and supporting the smooth operation of the clinic within the school environment.
- Key
- Responsibilities: - Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for students. - Record patient information accurately, including medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant data. - Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organized. - Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines. - Provide basic health education and counseling to students, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care. - Coordinate with school staff and parents to facilitate communication and ensure comprehensive care for students. - Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and other administrative tasks to support clinic operations. - Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations and privacy laws. - Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities organized by the clinic. - Continuously update skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities and training sessions.
- QualificationsRequired
- Education: - High school diploma or equivalent - Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with Certification or Registration.
- Required
- Experience: - Minimum of one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting. - Experience working in a school-based clinic or with pediatric patients is highly desirable. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing processes.
