Job description
The Summer Discovery Program Paraprofessional (contract position) supports teachers and staff in delivering instructional and behavioral support to students. This role assists in creating a positive learning environment, reinforces lesson plans, and provides individualized or small-group support to help students succeed academically and socially.

- Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
- Reinforce lessons and help students understand concepts
- Support students with special needs, including behavioral or physical assistance
- Monitor student behavior and help maintain a safe, structured classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management and organization
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips, and transitions
- Track student progress and report observations to the teacher
- Support students with personal care tasks if required (depending on role)

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred)
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude
- Paraprofessional certification (preferred)
