- Shift: DayPosition Purpose Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) applies the understanding of how behavior works to real situations contrived in a clinic setting to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning. Following evidence-based principles, the employee in this position at Poppy’s Promise provides ABA interventions according to the organization’s mission and values. The RBT encourages positive social replacement behaviors so those receiving services can build and improve upon their communication, social interaction, adaptive skills, and problem-solving skills. Major Duties and responsibilities Demonstrate all competencies that will be taught during your paid training for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Complete all required training in a timely manner. Conduct ABA sessions in clinic setting. Work consistently as part of a team to ensure the person and his/her family receives the highest quality therapy possible. Complete documentation in a timely manner. Collect accurate, truthful, and complete data that captures the true skills or occurrence of behavior (positive and negative).

- Abilities to: Run multiple ABA programs based on the person’s needs, collect data, and manage problem behavior (under the supervision of a BCBA). Roll with it – adjust expectations in the moment and be creative. Support co-workers and help each other when there is a break in services. Help others. Support others. Work conditions The RBT will work in clinic. Work schedule will be weekdays, hours are between 730am and 530pm.

- Qualifications include: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) designation or willingness to attain that designation. **Poppy’s Promise will pay for training and time spent completing the training.*
- Ability to complete and pass all criminal and personal background checks. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism throughout all aspects of work duties. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond to situations where individuals may attempt to run to or from an area (i.e., a small child running out into the street).
