Job Summary To serve New Life Church by providing leadership and oversight of all Birth to Kinder classrooms promoting a clean, safe and fun environment where children can discover, experience, and follow Jesus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Be a classroom lead in an assigned classroom from ages Birth to Kinder on Friday Nights Come prepared to teach and lead the room Set up and tear down all early childhood and nursery spaces on Friday Nights Assist with coverage for other shifts occasionally on Sunday mornings, Tuesday nights, Thursday mornings Work required All Staff events including New Life Next (one Tuesday night per semester), Family Ministries Christmas Event (one Thursday night in December), Kids Camp (last week of June), and any other required events Refer pastoral needs for parents, children, and volunteers to the Early Childhood Coordinator Partner/Develop/Implement with NLFN Kids leadership to attract, train, and mobilize volunteers Partner/Develop/Implement with NLFN Kids leadership to support parents in the spiritual formation of their children Attend all meetings required by NLFN Kids leadership staff Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment of unity among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church Assist the NLFN Kids leadership staff by performing any other duties as assigned Attend a New Life Church service weekly Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed. Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures. Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues. Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department. Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required. Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures. Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment. Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Possess understanding of stages of childhood development with insight into everyday parental challenges. Be adept at developing life-giving rapport with paid staff, volunteers and guests. Personable and helpful attitude Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance Able to work under pressure Maintain the confidentially of sensitive information Education and Experience Education: High School Diploma Experience: Some classroom and early childhood training Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Close visual acuity is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
