Position Summary
Play Academy is seeking an energetic, engaging, and motivating Water Aerobics Instructor to join our team. This individual will lead fun, low-impact, and safe water-based fitness classes while creating a welcoming, inclusive, and upbeat environment for participants of all fitness levels. Key Responsibilities Lead structured water aerobics classes in alignment with Play Academy standards and programming guidelines Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and verbal cues to ensure safe and effective movement in the water Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive class atmosphere Modify routines to accommodate varying fitness levels, abilities, and physical limitations Ensure participant safety and proper use of pool equipment and space Arrive early to prepare the pool area and remain after class for cleanup and participant support Track attendance and communicate class updates, feedback, or concerns to management Represent Play Academy in a professional and positive manner at all times Independent Contractor Status (1099) This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor role Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and certifications Schedule based on class availability and contractor availability Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate water fitness routines and remain physically active throughout class Ability to perform movements in water, including walking, jogging, jumping, and resistance exercises Ability to lift and move light equipment as needed Compensation Competitive per-class compensation based on experience Play Academy is committed to equal opportunity employment and values the diversity and unique contributions of all our team members.
