About the Role

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience with challenges such as mental health, substance use, or system involvement to provide guidance and support to young adults. This role focuses on building trust, offering hope, and empowering peers. You’ll help people live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. Your responsibilities may include: Assisting visitors in identifying goals for their future Facilitating peer-led groups Advocating for young adults needs, whenever possible Working collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team No two days are the same—and every day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking positive and reliable individuals who are can serve as mentors for young adults going through challenges similar to your lived experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Experience Navigating behavioral health services Valid Connecticut Driver’s License This position is intended for individuals with lived experience as participants in the mental health service system who have demonstrated the ability to access and utilize community resources effectively.
