This role involves working closely with students, staff, and families to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: ● Provide individual and group counseling on academic (executive functioning skills, study habits, etc.), personal, social, and behavioral challenges. ● Counsel students regarding educational issues such as course and program selection, class scheduling, school adjustment, ICAP, study habits, and college/career planning. ● Secondary student course scheduling. ● Counsel students on personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational situations. ● Deliver counseling services through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling. ● Provide crisis support to individual students when needed; collaborate and provide resources to families when needed. ● Implement and coordinate 504 meetings and plans for students. ● Analyze data and use results to inform stakeholders and continuously improve programs. ● Use available technology resources to enhance the school counseling practice and program. ● Work closely with admin and members of the mental health team to plan, deliver, and promote social-emotional programming that can be embedded within the school framework. ● Maintain community partnerships to support students and their families. ● Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills. ● Perform other duties as requested Qualifications Required: ● Masters Degree in School Counseling ● Special Service Provider Initial License or Special Service Provider Professional License (School Counseling) - Colorado Department of Education ● Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills ● Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to support student success ● Experience in case management, counseling, and crisis intervention ● Strong organization and problem-solving skills ● Experience with student crisis support and safety assessments ● Experience with peer mentoring/tutoring, Multi-Tiered System of Supports/Response-to-Intervention, and 504 would be helpful, but not required. ● At least 2 years experience of middle or high school counseling is preferred. ● Knowledge of both Mac and PC, Google Essential Physical Requirements: ● Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds. ● Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes. ● Ability to run short distances. ● Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
