Job description

Ravenscroft is an independent, coeducational day school in Raleigh, NC, with approximately 1,250 students in grades PreK-12.

Ravenscroft School is looking for an experienced Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training coverage in a part-time capacity (2 afternoons/evenings per week averaging 10 hours per week). Successful candidates will be a Licensed-Nationally Board Certified NATA Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer and have some experience in a middle/secondary school setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and/or reconditioning for middle and high school student-athletes.
  • Provide coverage at all home athletic events and practices from fall to spring sports seasons. Coverage for away athletic events as assigned during the fall season.
  • Maintain a line of communication with the team physician regarding treatment and/or rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
  • Maintain communication with parents on the care and treatment of their student-athlete.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, emergency response and referrals in the MAGNUS electronic records system.
  • File all necessary injury reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents to Human Resources for insurance purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized athletic training room.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.

Ideal Candidates will have the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Licensed-Nationally Board Certified NATA Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer
  • CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care certification
  • Experience working in a middle/secondary school highly preferred
