  • Peckham Inc. - GO Intern SUMMARY The GO Program Specialist (Intern) will provide supportive services to GO Program participants aged 18-24 who need vocational training, mentoring, and barrier removal. This position will demonstrate excellent data keeping and document writing, have exceptional interpersonal communication; and have experience with group facilitation, collaboration with partnering agencies, development of individual development plans, and experience with transition planning. This staff will reflect Peckham’s values and vision in everyday work. This position will attend numerous team meetings (within Peckham and in the community) and be responsible for a small caseload. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate Intake and Eligibility interviews. Collaborate with partnering agencies and represent Peckham and the GO program. Monitor the status and progress of caseload’s individualized career development plan. Update data tracking systems. Help facilitate Restorative Justice Projects. Develop and facilitate ongoing groups related to the cognitive behavioral model. Coordinate programming for at-risk young adults to achieve their vocational and academic goals. Supervise program activities and outings with participants ensuring a safe environment. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain safe and clean work environment. Assist with obtaining vital documents. Promote Peckham’s vision values, and services to all customers and stakeholders. Establish relationships with community resources related to vocational training opportunities, secondary education, and specialized training. Create positive relationship with referral sources. Collaborate with community organizations to garner employer partner relationships. Other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any supervisory responsibility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, etc.) Experience leading and facilitating groups This position requires passing and maintaining security background checks. Must maintain an unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and possess a clear driving record (in accordance with company insurance policy) to drive the company vehicle. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with or providing support services to young adults Experience case noting and management PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
