Job description

Description Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. Are you passionate about supporting students through individualized assessment and educational planning? Solterra Academy is seeking an Educational Diagnostician to conduct educational evaluations, support IEP development, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive appropriate educational programming and interventions within a therapeutic school setting.

School Year Schedule

  • Monday to
  • Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (In-Person) Mandatory Summer

Session: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Responsibilities

Conduct educational evaluations per PPT recommendations, including reviewing background information, selecting appropriate assessments, administering testing, interpreting data, and preparing comprehensive reports. Present educational data at individual student team meetings and at PPTs as needed Maintain accurate and timely evaluation documentation and reports in accordance with PPT deadlines. Build positive and therapeutic relationships with students. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with students and families. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university required Master’s Degree with emphasis in learning disabilities and assessments preferred Minimum of three years of experience in special education with an emphasis in educational assessment highly preferred Some experience working with students with emotional/behavioral needs required Valid CT 165 certification from the CT State Department of Education required
