Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant supports the Dean of Advising with the day-to-day management of the department. This includes communication, scheduling, and reception of visitors. In addition, the Administrative Assistant supports the department with large-scale communications and event coordination. They will often be the first point of contact between the Advisors and the wider community. They will take joy in welcoming and assisting people in both predictable and unpredictable ways. The ideal candidate will take pride in professionally representing the department with internal and external constituents. Additionally, they will develop strong, trusting relationships with community members while cultivating an appreciation for and understanding of Culver's culture and community.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Three years of general office work experience at progressive levels of responsibility is desired. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as effective writing, speaking, and listening skills. They will take charge of work and create new initiatives, display sound judgment, have effective problem-solving, and prudent decision-making skills. This position requires high-level computer proficiency, excellent data entry skills, high competency using Microsoft Office products, and experience with Cialfo, Veracross, Schoology and Survey Monkey.
