Position: Youth Support Worker | Direct Support Professional

Location: STAS Kerri's | Ewing, NJ

Pay

$18.50 per hour

Job Type: On-Call | Short Hour (SUB)

Join our team as a Direct Support Professional | Youth Support Worker and together, we will continue providing a safe, supervised and structured residential setting for at-risk adolescents.

  • The Ideal Youth Support Worker | Direct Support Professional
  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
  • Can assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.
  • Demonstrates composure in challenging situations, exhibiting patience and understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments and activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for each resident.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other career development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology with one year of experience in direct care for youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
  • High School diploma holders with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean standing over the past (6) months is required.
  • Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances.
  • All new hires are required to successfully complete Safety Crisis Management (SCM) certification within one week of hire.
  • Training Overview:
  • Duration: The SCM program spans three days.
  • Physical Demands: Active participation in physically demanding activities is necessary.
