Position: Youth Support Worker | Direct Support Professional
Location: STAS Kerri's | Ewing, NJ
Pay
$18.50 per hour

Join our team as a Direct Support Professional | Youth Support Worker and together, we will continue providing a safe, supervised and structured residential setting for at-risk adolescents.

- The Ideal Youth Support Worker | Direct Support Professional
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Has knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
- Can assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrates composure in challenging situations, exhibiting patience and understanding.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments and activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for each resident.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other career development activities.
- Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology with one year of experience in direct care for youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
- High School diploma holders with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- A valid driver's license with a clean standing over the past (6) months is required.
- Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances.
- All new hires are required to successfully complete Safety Crisis Management (SCM) certification within one week of hire.
- Training Overview:
- Duration: The SCM program spans three days.
- Physical Demands: Active participation in physically demanding activities is necessary.
