SUMMARY
- The math guide is a full-time position responsible for curriculum development in middle school arithmetic, algebra, measurement, geometry, and coding for grades 7–8.
- This role involves the mentoring, guidance, and assessment of middle school students applying a Montessori approach.
- Experience teaching computer science, programming, maker spaces, and/or robotics is a plus.
- Emphasis is on hands-on, real-world learning without reliance on a textbook.
- This position also includes cultivating, building, and maintaining partnership connections in related organizations in the Houston Museum District and nearby surrounding areas.
Qualifications
The well-grounded candidate will have experience teaching middle school students in the subjects listed above or related fields. Successful candidates will have expertise in creatively matching academic and real-world challenges to a variety of student skill levels to create an environment with experiences for maximized engagement.
