  • Huntington Hospital Employee Login Expectations: Provides for and/or ensures that the spiritual needs of patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians are met as a part of care provided by Huntington Hospital. Provides educational opportunities for Chaplains, Volunteers, and Staff and in the community regarding a variety of spiritually and culturally diverse needs including end of life issues. Provides pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance as needed. This position requires flexibility of hours. EDUCATION: A Master of Divinity Degree (preferred) or Masters in Theology, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or related field required. Ecclesiastical endorsement for hospital chaplaincy, preferred. Four units of a Clinical Pastoral Education are preferred. Certification as a Chaplain by a national chaplaincy organization preferred. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum three years in a healthcare organization serving a patient population with an average daily census of 250 is preferred. SKILLS: Ability to be an effective teacher. Expertise in the management of difficult patient, family and staff situations. Exemplary organization and problem solving skills. Leadership ability and collaborative style. Ability to manage activities and multiple priorities within complex systems. Ability to function in unstructured environments. Tolerance for ambiguity, uncertainty and change.
