- This position involves periodontal charting and instructs patients in oral hygiene and have a firm grasp of dental procedures.
- The Dental Assistant will professionally communicate with the Dental Assistant team, faculty, and residents, while providing exemplary patient care.
- PRIMARY JOB RESPONSBILITIES Utilizes special solutions and sterilization bags; disposes of biohazard accordingly and maintains infection control Prepares operatories and instrument trays for procedures for multiple disciplines Reviews schedule for each discipline to properly prepare for the day; minimal periodontal charting Cleans, oils, and sterilizes equipment Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent communications skills Team player and ability to multi-task Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Ability to operate dental equipment Ability to provide imaging services Ability to maintain infection control and sterilization of dental equipment Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA policy MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or the equivalent Six months of experience or training as a dental assistant PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Function Dental Staff Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
