Assistant Teacher – Afternoon & Closing Support

The Learning Experience – Jenison is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms throughout the day while helping maintain a smooth and organized closing routine each evening. This role supports children across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms while ensuring a safe and positive end-of-day experience for families and staff.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with multiple age groups and supporting classroom transitions later in the day.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities Support afternoon transitions, playground time, and dismissal routines Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Provide classroom coverage as needed across age groups Support Lead Teachers with classroom preparation and activities Communicate professionally with families during pickup times Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required Prior childcare experience preferred Comfortable supporting multiple age groups Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
