Job description

Ravenscroft School is looking for an experienced Athletic Trainer on a per diem pay structure, to provide athletic training coverage for our middle and high school student-athletes. This is a great opportunity for a certified athletic trainer seeking flexible, meaningful work in an independent school environment — approximately one afternoons/evenings per week, averaging 10 hours per week across the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons.

Successful candidates will be a Licensed–Nationally Board Certified NATA Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer with some experience in a middle or secondary school setting.

Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

What You'll Do

  • Provide first aid, injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and/or reconditioning for student-athletes
  • Cover home athletic events and practices across all three sports seasons
  • Collaborate with the team physician on injury treatment and rehabilitation plans
  • Communicate with parents and families regarding their student-athlete's care
  • Maintain accurate records in the MAGNUS electronic records system
  • File injury reports with Human Resources for insurance purposes
  • Keep the athletic training room clean, organized, and well-stocked

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Licensed- Nationally Board Certified NATA Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer
  • CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care certification

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field
  • Experience working in a middle or secondary school setting

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role is based on Ravenscroft's campus across athletic facilities, fields, and the athletic training room. It requires the ability to move throughout campus, respond quickly in emergency situations, and work evenings and weekends as needed.
