  • What You’ll Do Tallahassee State College’s Adult Education (AE) Department provides a range of instructional programs that help adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens.
  • The major program areas are Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED® Preparation, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
  • These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and English language proficiency.
  • The AE Program also helps adult learners gain the knowledge and skills they need to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
  • The Volunteers/Interns will be assisting the lead instructor in the classroom as needed and adhering to all College policies and procedures.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities will include: Tutoring students one-on-one or in small groups according to Florida Adult Education Curriculum Frameworks and assigned lesson plans.

  • The selected candidates identified for this position will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check, which will include fingerprinting.
