  • Specifications: The Summer VPK Teacher is in charge and responsible for the supervision of 9-12 PreK students. They are responsible for planning and conducting a variety of learning activities focused on preparing the students for Kindergarten.

  • Responsibilities: Creates a climate where students and staff have positive and respectful relationships with each other. Supervise 9-12 students and be responsible for their health and safety at all times. Carry out planned Summer VPK curriculum with fidelity Conduct a Pre (Week 1) and Post (Week 8) assessment on each student. Develop and keep a portfolio on each student. Encourage and facilitate students’ participation in all activities by implementing appropriate strategies, such as visual structure and reinforcements. Engage students in meaningful conversation and expose them to a variety of language uses and forms. Maintains a classroom that reflects discovery and use of materials but is general clean or well maintained, harmful cleaning supplies and other hazardous materials are not accessible to children, universal precautions are used appropriately and consistently, respond quickly and appropriately to all accidents/incidents including documentation. Assist and supervise students in all aspects of self-care, including dressing and undressing, bathing, eating, grooming and hygiene, toileting, and any other areas of daily living. If student is self-sufficient in these areas, close supervision and monitoring are still required. Implement behavior management strategies according to the UCP guidelines. Be responsible for care and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Ensure that parents/guardians complete and sign daily attendance forms (electronic). Ensure that parents receive daily or weekly communication regarding their child. Communicate with parent/guardian any behavior/medical issues. Log any incident on the Portal/communicate to parents and Principal/Enrichment Program Coordinator. Provide guidance and supervision of VPK Instructional Aide. Report any unusual events or parent/staff concerns to Principal and Enrichment Program Coordinator. Attend training, staff meetings and special events as scheduled. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
