Position Summary
Position: Assistant Football Coach - Defensive Assistant - Outside Linebackers Status: Part-Time, 10-month position Department: Guilford College Athletic Department Basic Function: The assistant football coach is responsible for assisting the head football coach in all aspects of an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), NCAA Division III athletic team, including, but not limited to, recruiting, coaching, budget management, and public affairs. Specific Responsibilities: Assist in all phases of the day-to-day administration of an intercollegiate football program as assigned by the head coach. A majority of coaching duties will be teaching their respective sport to students. This coaching is expected to be in person. Assist with all aspects of recruiting. Teaching, training, and coaching of a defensive scheme. Preparing practice and game plans. Maintain knowledge of offensive coaching strategies. Serve as game manager for another sport as assigned by the Athletic Director. Represent Guilford College and its football program in a professional manner at all times. This position is considered a Responsible Employee for purposes of the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. As such, this position is required to report any incident of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence to the college’s Title IX Coordinator when made aware of such. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of college coaching experience with a proven record of success. The candidate must demonstrate effective coaching and recruiting methods, strong leadership, organizational skills, and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. In addition, the successful candidate must have a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and the mission of Guilford College.
