What You’ll Do
Under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, treat patients with disorders which prohibit or delay self-care to enhance independence for daily life skills. Prepare detailed documentation of treatment provided, length of treatment and progress toward outcomes identified in plan of care set by an occupational therapist Follow through on treatment and therapy plans to suit the individual needs of a diverse population of patients including short- and long-term goals Educate patients, parents and caregivers about functional and self-care delays, causes and plan or treatment Report patient progress and current status to appropriate parties including family members, caregiver or medical professional Team with parent, caregiver or other therapists in a therapy session, as appropriate Make appropriate referrals for additional patient services, as needed
Requirements: What We’re Looking For:
Our Ideal COTA Candidate Has
- An Occupational Therapy Assistant must have at least an Associates Degree from an accredited establishment and passed their exams administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Thorough understanding of pediatric occupational delays, causes and treatments
