Adelphoi is looking for a quality, dedicated, and independent counselor to serve in the Truancy program, located in Bradford County.
In the Truancy Diversion program, we offer an opportunity for identified children and their caregivers to participate in focused and targeted counseling to improve school attendance. The program will provide the opportunity to work in family homes and school settings. Our Truancy Diversion program staff offer counseling to youth and families in the home, community or school settings located in the Sayre, Towanda and Athens School Districts in Bradford County. About the Role
We are expanding our services in Bradford County and are looking for an energetic counselor to join our team and help drive our mission!
As a Community Counselor, you will
- Identify strengths of clients and parents, contributing to a more positive relationship with school officials.
- Assess and identify prevention plans to monitor good school attendance.
- Adopt and utilize an identified evidence-based parenting curriculum.
- Meet with children and care givers to implement prevention plan goals and objectives.
This year round position requires travel and daylight (evening) hours to meet the needs of the youth and families.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting.
- Valid PA driver’s license.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in using a computer in the field and ability to learn new electronic systems.
- Demonstrate qualities of a therapist that include empathy, good listening skills and critical thinking.
