Job description

This is a Full-Time Hourly position that will be paid $36.54/Hour, working 35 Hours/Week. This position receives 2 weeks paid Spring break, 2 weeks paid Winter break, up to one full week paid Thanksgiving break, approximately 10 paid holidays a year as well as 16 hours of Vacation time and 64 hours of Sick time. This position does not work during the Summer break and is not paid for that time (approximately 9 weeks). For those interested, we do have Wise Camp during the summer which offers plenty of opportunities for summer employment.
This position is also eligible for health benefits, on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment, which include, Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Dependent care and several supplemental insurance plans. This position also receives 85% remission on school tuition and 85% off of camp tuition (for those that work at Wise during the summer).
The Job
The Collaborative Support Teacher at Wise School supports a small group of students, while working collaboratively with a team of teachers. You will create and maintain a nurturing and supportive classroom environment, while implementing positive behavior support and classroom management. A supportive administrative team will provide needed guidance and professional development.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Works directly with the classroom teachers to support each student’s individualized academic needs to help them access the curriculum.
- Implements effective strategies such as reteaching, scaffolding, modifications and accommodations.
- Collaborates with team members, staff, and administration to support student learning and growth.
- Facilitates online learning using the technology tools and platforms provided as necessary.
- Attend and actively participates in all-staff meetings and training when necessary.
- As a key staff member in our religious educational institution, role-model the tenets of our faith on a daily basis to our members and the broader Temple community; participate in transmitting the expectations and values of our faith, playing a critical and essential role in the Temple’s ability to minister to the daily needs of our students and members.

Required Skills/Abilities
- College degree and certifications or equivalent experience working with elementary aged children.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to comfortably traverse the school campus multiple times throughout the day.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and lift up to 15 pounds.
- Possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate standard office and educational equipment and support student and school activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors at normal speaking levels and from a distance when necessary to support student safety and school operations.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, to perform essential job functions safely and effectively.
