A wide variety of tasks are performed to support the campers and the camp environment. The work is performed under the supervision of the director.

Duties and Responsibilities

Implement summer camp activities, lesson plans, and maintain daily classroom schedules. Participate in and support any camp outings or field trips throughout the duration of camp. Provide supervision of campers in a 4:1 ratio setting. Ensure the wellbeing and safety of children at all times. Provide individualized attention or instruction based on camper needs. Keeps campers engaged and on task throughout the day. Praise and reinforce the achievement of campers, and celebrate camper success in all areas. Maintain a friendly and nurturing disposition with campers. Preparation/Support including, but not limited to: Preparing visual aids or communication supports, duplicating materials, laminating, reorganizing materials, distributing and collecting materials, creating and planning arts and crafts activities Assist with camper hygiene and independent functioning needs including, but not limited to: toilet training and toileting assistance (changing diapers), handwashing, feeding. Support each child’s social, emotional and intellectual growth and development. Assist campers with daily activities or tasks. Maintain communication with parents, staff and faculty regarding the progress and wellbeing of the campers. Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the team, be able to solve problems independently and with team. Maintain confidentiality of camper/child information. Maintain a professional personal appearance, attitude and work behavior at all times. QualificationsQualifications Graduation from high school. At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental delays. Clear level 2 criminal background screening. A valid Florida Driver's license and proof of insurance. Certification in CPR and First Aid, kept current. (will train, if needed)
