Job description

  • The Carey School seeks a dedicated, creative and experienced educator for an Early Childhood Education classroom Lead Teacher position.
  • Our play-responsive early childhood program is rooted in the Developmentally Appropriate Practice and philosophies of the Reggio Emilia approach, providing structured and open-ended play time for children to build SEL skills, develop relationships and “learn through doing” using emergent curriculum themes.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years of lead teaching experience in an early childhood education setting and ideally, a degree in early childhood education or development; and/or at least 12 ECE units.
  • A qualified candidate will have demonstrated collaboration with colleagues, including grade level partners and specialist teachers.
  • In addition, they will have a proven record in both language arts and mathematics, utilizing the project approach to integrate content through play and teacher-directed lessons.

This is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt position, with benefits and employment is expected to be from August 10th, 2026 to February 19th, 2027. The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is based on an annual salary of $75K - $85K, depending on factors such as experience or education.
