- RecreationThis position is responsible for: Leading children’s activities in and after school program including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; prepares and serves children snacks; assists in leading activities and maintains the cleanliness of the program areas Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and required reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.); prepares and processes supply orders; Maintains the after school program materials in an orderly fashion; maintains accountability necessities of the programs.

- Responsibilities: Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. Institutes and follows lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities. Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children’s safety in utilizing the same. Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside learning activities. Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive relaxed atmosphere during children’s mealtime encouraging conversation. Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline techniques. Maintains the after-school program materials in an orderly fashion; maintains accountability for any laundry, money and supplies necessary for programs. Cleans kitchen, classrooms, table, floors, etc. in accordance with established sanitary standards. Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and required reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.). Ensures the accountability, security and safety of children participating in program activities; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner initiating the accident report. Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents; informs parents of child’s progress and activities.

- Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are performed in a classroom, gym, and outdoor settings. Sitting, walking, and standing are required. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work requires working indoors and outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
