About the Role
On-Point Medical Group is pleased to offer a Medical Assistant Intern opportunity for the summer term. This internship is designed for nursing or healthcare students who are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Healthcare relate degree and are seeking meaningful, hands-on experience in an outpatient clinical setting. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about patient care, clinical workflows, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a multi-specialty practice that includes Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN.
This role emphasizes education, professional development, and exposure to real-world clinical practice under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals.
- Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program or other Bachelor Degree health related programs
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation as part of nursing school curriculum
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Interest in learning about outpatient clinical care across multiple medical specialties
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical patient care

- Patient intake, including obtaining vital signs
- Preparation and stocking of examination rooms
- Assisting clinical staff and providers during patient visits, as appropriate
- Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Clinic workflow support to ensure positive patient experience
- Daily operations of a busy outpatient clinic
- Clinical care delivery across diverse patient populations and age groups

- Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a medical clinic setting that includes Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN
- Regular exposure to patients with a variety of medical conditions and needs
- May involve standing and walking for extended periods during clinic hours
- Occasional lifting or moving of supplies or equipment (up to approximately 25 pounds)
- Use of standard medical equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials, with appropriate safety training and precautions provided
- Schedule may vary based on clinic operations and educational requirements of the internship
