Job Description

  • We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Dental Assisting Program.
  • This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director.
  • The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assisting courses.
  • The typical teaching load is three courses each term, with two or three preparations.
  • Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program resulting in a certificate of completion or a diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
  • Certifications:
  • RDA and/or CDA
  • DANB RHS
  • X-ray certified
  • EFDA is not required, but desired
  • At least four years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, chairside
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
  • Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience of at least 1 year is required
