Job Description
- We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Dental Assisting Program.
- This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director.
- The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assisting courses.
- The typical teaching load is three courses each term, with two or three preparations.
- Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program resulting in a certificate of completion or a diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
- Certifications:
- RDA and/or CDA
- DANB RHS
- X-ray certified
- EFDA is not required, but desired
- At least four years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, chairside
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
- Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience of at least 1 year is required
