Dear Ms. Duquesne,

I am applying to join the substitute roster at Willow Bend Local Schools. I currently cover elementary and middle grades across three neighboring districts, and I am writing because your posting mentions building a pool of substitutes who can take self-contained special education rooms.

Six schools now request me by name, and I have taken three long-term placements, the most recent a full quarter in a fourth-grade classroom while the teacher was on leave. Recurring requests are the only real measure of whether a substitute is worth calling twice.

Your posting is unusual in saying you want substitutes who can handle self-contained rooms. Most districts leave that unsaid and then call in a panic, and it is the setting I have deliberately built experience in.

I hold an Ohio Substitute Teaching License and current CPR and First Aid certification.

I would be glad to talk about which buildings are hardest to cover and whether there is scope for a longer placement. I can start at short notice.
