This position is responsible for teaching fundamentals of soccer, enforcing rules and regulations during games, and emphasizing good sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer. Additional responsibilities include game preparation and maintaining a safe environment.
Knowledge of the soccer skills and rules and safety awareness are required. Personal experience in soccer, background in Y sports philosophy and experience refereeing or coaching are beneficial. Must be energetic and enjoy working with kids in a fun and fast-paced environment. Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals and have the ability to build rapport with participants and parents. Self-confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to enforce rules impartially, consistently and calmly. Must possess a spirit of good sportsmanship and exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
