Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned) Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the state and school Lectures, demonstrates and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to the class Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents Keeps attendance and grade records as required by MCA Personal & Professional Characteristics Passionate and enthusiastic about Christian education Respectful, optimistic, and grace-filled in their relationships and interactions with colleagues, students, and parents Adaptable and flexible in teaching methods Highly responsive to students' spiritual, intellectual, and emotional well-being Effective and clear communicator, as well as an active listener Ability to set clear expectations and hold students accountable for age-appropriate performance Ability to solve problems involving sensitive topics with confidentiality
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in secondary education or Math.
