About the role

Pinon Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Physical Education Teacher to promote healthy lifestyles and physical fitness among students. The ideal candidate will develop engaging and dynamic physical education curriculum and lead students in various activities that encourage a lifelong commitment to fitness and wellness.

Responsibilities

Plan, teach, and assess physical education classes that cater to the needs and interests of students. Develop a balanced curriculum that includes individual, team sports, fitness activities, and health education. Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment to encourage student participation and enjoyment in physical activity. Monitor student progress and adapt lesson plans based on their individual performance and needs. Communicate with parents and guardians about students’ progress and ways to support their physical education at home. Instruct students in safety practices related to physical activities and sports. Participate in district-wide events and contribute to school-wide initiatives related to health and wellness. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance. Collaborate with fellow educators to incorporate health education and physical fitness into the broader school curriculum. Stay updated on the latest developments in physical education and coaching techniques. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. Valid Arizona teaching certification in Physical Education. Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, assessment methods, and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students to be physically active and healthy. Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus. Requirements
