About the role

The Math Tutor will teach and tutor students using the Mathnasium Method and work collaboratively with team members to provide individualized instruction. They will also assess students' understanding and engagement during sessions.

Qualifications

  • Passion for math and helping others
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
  • Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
  • Available a minimum of 8 hours per week
  • 16 years or older (15 years allowed with work permit)

  • Availability year round (Please note: This is not a summer only position. All applicants must be available during the school year as well)

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

  • Teach/tutor in-center using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices as learned during training
  • Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
  • Assess students’ understanding and engagement throughout instructional sessions
  • Become proficient with various daily processes

Requirements

Candidates should have a passion for math and helping others, along with exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I. They must be available for a minimum of 8 hours per week and pass a math literacy test.
