Job description

  • What is a Youth Mentor?
  • A Youth Mentor works with a group of 3 children at a time on our 22 acre campus here in the LC Valley.
  • They walk alongside the children in our care as they receive treatment and work towards goals specific to their needs.
  • All the children in our care have experienced serious trauma.
  • Because of that, they have some intense behavioral issues.
  • They come to us for the therapeutic treatment plans our teams create and implement.

Youth Mentors participate in a variety of outdoor activities with the kids

basketball, volleyball, hiking, fishing, and rollerblading, to name a few! Other activities could include movies, games, drawing and other hobbies the kids enjoy.

Youth Mentors are role models for children and are able to meet them where they are, in their phase of treatment. They build quality relationships and set healthy boundaries using a Trauma Informed Care approach. The Youth Mentors are critical to the successful treatment process for these children.

Requirements

Must be at least 19 years of age. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience working with children, verifiable through references. Valid Driver’s License to transport residents in agency vehicles.
