About the role

The resident will gain hands-on training in various aspects of children's ministry, working with the team to prepare for weekend services, manage volunteers, and interact with attending families. Duties include performing administrative tasks, assisting the campus supervisors, planning programming, preparing classrooms, and communicating with volunteers.

Ada Bible Church is looking for a Children's Ministry Resident to join the Discovery Village team. As a resident, you will gain invaluable experience and hands-on training in many aspects of children's ministry (infant to 5th grade) as you work with the Children's Ministry team prepare for weekend services, work with volunteers, and interact with families who attend weekend services. You should be available to work on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday weekend services. Bi-weekly on Tuesday afternoons, you will get to meet with ministry residents at Ada Bible Church for spiritual formation, leadership and ministry development.

This is a part-time temporary position offered up to 20 hours per week--ideally this spring through the 26-27 ministry year (with the possibility of extension from there)

What you will do

  • Perform various administrative and ministry duties
  • Work alongside Children's Ministry Campus Supervisor's and Coordinators
  • Be actively involved in planning and carrying out children's programming
  • Assist the Discovery Village team at weekend services
  • Prepare classrooms with supplies and resources
  • Communicate with Discovery Village volunteers
  • Attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays

Qualifications

  • Be a committed Christian living a life of obedience to Christ
  • Be interested in doing future vocational work with children's ministry or similar ministry area
  • Be willing to learn all aspects of children's ministry
  • Be teachable and open to feedback
  • Be available to work during weekend services and one business day as determined by supervisor
  • Have reliable transportation be available to work during weekend services and one business day as determined by supervisor
