The instructor's primary role is to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable settings, acting as professional and academic role models, which includes teaching didactic and clinical courses. Responsibilities involve organizing class objectives, maintaining a safe environment, developing curriculum, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback.

Candidates must possess an active and unencumbered rn license in california and meet specific educational criteria, such as an associate's degree, valid teaching credentials, or one year of full-Time teaching experience in an accredited rn or lvn program. A minimum of four years of clinical experience as an rn is also required.
