Certified Doula

The certified doula provides direct support to pregnant participants and families during labor and delivery by facilitating communication between the participant and caregiver while offering comfort measures. Responsibilities also include building rapport, providing perinatal education during prenatal and postpartum periods, and assisting clients with overcoming barriers like transportation or housing.

Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school degree and have completed doula coursework at an approved school, along with illinois medicaid certified doula status and successful impact medicaid credentialing. Key competencies include reliability, initiative, the ability to manage competing demands, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication.
