Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a Speech and Language Pathologist
Apply appropriate principles, methods, and procedures in order to provide speech, language, cognitive voice, aural and dysphagia measurement, testing, evaluation, prediction, treatment, counseling and instruction to patients based on age-specific needs and expected outcomes.

- Develops a plan for care in conjunction with physicians, interdisciplinary team members and the patient and family addressing needs which include but are not limited to receptive and expressive language skills, cognition, speech production, voice disorders, laryngeal speech, fluency, dysphagia, and augmentative communication.
- Implements the treatment in accordance with the evaluation and treatment plan.
- Educates the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team concerning the speech therapy program.
- Maintains records and reports in accordance with agency policy.
- Keeps accurate and up to date records and attends interdisciplinary meetings to update the plan of care.
- Coordinates treatment activity with other disciplines and team members which includes participation in clinical staffing and provides/seeks input to/from others on patient care.
- Attends Physical Rehabilitation Services meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings, as indicated for patient coordination.
- Desired Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge and skill to promote excellence in patient services, community outreach and professional growth through continuing education Ability to function independently and on an interdisciplinary team Ability to work as a team player and serve as a role model Ability to perform necessary calculation and interpret data used in patient treatments Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural socioeconomic populations Here is What You Need: Master's degree or higher in speech language pathology or related field License (must meet one of the following): Current Full Wyoming Speech/Language Pathologist License from the Wyoming State Board of Speech Pathologists and Audiologists Current Provisional Wyoming Speech/Language Pathologist License from the Wyoming State Board of Speech Pathologists and Audiologists with Full License acquired within two (2) years of start date 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date Home Health: Valid USA driver’s license Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines Nice to Have: Prior experience About Cheyenne Regional: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad.
