Position summary
This is an in-person, synchronous position that may include morning, afternoon or evening classes depending on instructional needs. This position involves delivering high-quality instruction, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the academic excellence of the program. Course availability will depend on applicant’s areas of expertise and interests in the field of physical therapy. Application materials for adjunct positions are accepted on an on-going basis.
Essential functions
- Prepare syllabi and deliver curriculum appropriate for the course(s) assigned.
- Facilitate engaging classroom and laboratory sessions that promote critical thinking and practical skills.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation standards.
- Maintain effective and timely student assessment and feedback.
- Manage and foster an inclusive educational environment to serve all learners.
- Maintain student attendance records in accordance with university policy.
- Submit grades on time.
- Demonstrate professionalism with students, faculty, staff, and administration
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Timely attendance at all required class periods and other program activities (if required).
- Complete all required training, including training on LMS and testing software.
- Collaborate with other faculty to enhance course materials and contribute to program development initiatives.
Requirements
- Earned terminal clinical doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT or t-DPT).
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice physical therapy in Kansas.
- At least one year of full-time licensed work as a physical therapists in the United States.
- Ability to teach on campus in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a college/university program.
- Specialization certification from American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS)
