Job description
This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Arlington Traditional Elementary School.
All Teachers/Instructional Staff hired after January 15th are considered term employees. This position is a term position that is effective for FY26 through June 18, 2026, only. You would need to re-apply for a position for FY27.
Responsibilities
- Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
- Maintains safe and orderly environment
- Communicates with parents/guardians
- Maintains complete and accurate student records
- Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
- Monitors and assesses student achievement
- Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
- Experience
- Teaching experience in special education
- Knowledge of best instructional practices
- Ability to integrate technology
- Experience in educational and instructional leadership
Qualifications
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Special Education endorsement.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
