Job description

Description The J offers American Red Cross group swim lessons for children age 6 months and up. We offer classes for the beginner to the experienced swimmer who may be working on stroke proficiency and endurance. We also offer private swim lessons for all ages and abilities.

Schedule

Swim Instructors have flexible schedules and have teaching opportunities weekdays, weekends and evenings.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old Able to communicate effectively with children and parents Able to provide excellent customer service Previous competitive swimming, teaching or coaching experience a plus We will train new employees to teach private, custom swim lessons Physical Requirements Requires constant talking and hearing to communicate instructions with students, constant repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination to demonstrate strokes as well as frequent standing. Will occasionally walk, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs., climb ladders in and out of pool, and stoop/crouch. This position also involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions depending on the season, and varying pool temperatures. Good vision to surveil assigned zones and identify patrons in need of assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
