The assistant teacher supports daily activities for children aged infant to 5 years, focusing on preparing them for elementary school by developing vocabulary, social skills, and behavior. Essential functions include maintaining a safe environment, instructing children on personal habits, assisting with meals, and communicating with parents regarding daily activities and behavior.

Candidates must possess a minimum of an associate's degree with at least 6 college credit hours in early childhood education or child development, or an equivalent national child development associate (Cda) credential. Required experience includes at least 480 hours in a childcare setting serving children from birth through eight years old, along with valid cpr, first aid certifications, and an annual tuberculosis test.
