Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS, including but not limited to

Supervises and assists camp participants by providing instruction on class activities. Provides support for camp scheduled activities. Maintains accountability of students and class property. Maintains a clean classroom and camp. Assists the Programs Coordinator Team and other staff to present orientation, safety programs, and expectations. Ensures proper storage and inventory of class materials and equipment after each session. Adheres to safety practices and procedures, and reports all safety and waste concerns to the Program Coordinating Team. Supervises safe and efficient handling of tools and equipment by all camp participants who are involved in work or maintenance activities during a class session. Organizes class time to ensure it runs smoothly and avoids gaps or free time for participants. Encourages participation in class activities. Promotes the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provides feedback to participants, Youth Coordinators, and other program staff. Provides regular reports to the Program Coordinating team including, a “final” or close-out report with summaries of suggestions and/or recommendations for future camp sessions.

Requests supplies based on needs of class. Cultivates and maintains a climate that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and youth to work and learn.
