Job Description

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences seeks an Optometrist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties

The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Optometry. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a Doctorate of Optometry degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state optometry license. Appropriate additional training beyond Optometry School is encouraged. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. At the WVU Eye Institute you will treat a diverse population of pediatric and adult strabismus patients and have exposure to clinically challenging cases. Our state-of-the art facility houses all subspecialties of ophthalmology as well as an active research program. This University-based practice is rapidly expanding with a vast patient population offering the opportunity to be busy quickly. Highly competitive compensation and benefit package is available. The WVU Health System Board of Directors approved funding to construct a new 150,000 square foot facility that will allow the WVU Eye Institute to better meet the needs of patients which will include 102 exam rooms, 44 testing rooms, and surgical suites.
